Position Overview

Arcadis is seeking a Senior Environmental Permitting and Compliance Specialist to join our team in Long Island City NY or Fair Lawn NJ. Candidates should have a track record of success leading and implementing environmental planning, permitting and compliance solutions.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will support the team by performing a variety of tasks, including:

• Prepare regulatory documentation including SEQR and CEQR Environmental Assessments, Environmental Impact Statements, feasibility studies, siting reports, environmental permit applications, ULURP applications, and agency consultations
• Manage projects and lead tasks related to environmental review documentation and environmental permitting of water, sewer, transit, and energy facilities and/or transmission lines/pipelines including: NEPA, SEQR, CEQR, N.J. E.O. 215, USACE Section 10/404 permitting, , Clean Water Act permitting and other relevant environmental permitting
• Prepare or lead preparation of technical approach, budgets and schedules for project pursuits
• Manage project delivery, including budgets and schedules to achieve project financial goals and meet client requirements
• Provide support and expertise for environmental permitting and compliance programs
• Interact with both regulators and clients

Qualifications

Position requirements/responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• 10 years of project management experience in NYC including 5 years of SEQR/CEQR experience
• The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, proficient computer skills, good people skills, be well organized, professional, and able to accommodate a flexible schedule
• Environmental consulting experience with and understanding of NEPA, SEQR, CEQR, N.J. E.O. 215 regulated projects
• Experience permitting projects in NYC and New Jersey
• Strong technical writing and communication skills
• Strong time management and organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently or with a team
