Environmental Scientist

Position Overview

Seeking an Environmental Scientist to join our Tampa, FL or Orlando, FL office. This full-time position is under the direct supervision of the Environmental/PD&E Department Manager, and requires experience and expertise to perform wetland jurisdictional delineations, mapping, and permitting; ecological assessments; protected species surveys, studies and permitting; and prepare reports to support environmental permitting and NEPA compliance.

Qualifications

• Candidate must possess a working knowledge of the flora and fauna of Florida and the southeastern United States as well as federal and Florida wetlands and protected species regulatory requirements. 
• Candidate must have at a minimum a 4-year biology or natural science-related degree and 2 to 8 years of experience in environmental permitting/consulting in Florida.
• The candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and be able to function effectively as a team member.
• Position requires travel and fieldwork as well as interaction with coworkers, clients, regulatory agency personnel, and subcontractors. 
• FDOT project experience is preferred.
• Authorized Gopher Tortoise Agent and working knowledge of GIS/GPS software a plus. 
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record required.
