Position Overview

The Middlebury Institute is seeking an adjunct professor to teach this course in fall 2019. This course is required for our master’s students who specialize in Ocean and Coastal Resource Management in the International Environmental Policy Program. The class size is typically around 15 students, meets twice a week weeks for 1 hour 50 minutes over 15 weeks, and is 4 credits.

We are looking for someone with a marine science/oceanography background, with college teaching experience, to cover the basics of marine science required for policy professionals, along with some case studies of policy applications. Invited guest lectures by distinguished researchers/academics in the Monterey region and/or field trips are encouraged.

Topics typically include ocean processes, coastal processes, ocean pollution, marine spatial planning, marine protected areas, and marine biodiversity conservation. Please complete an application and attach all requested documents if interested in applying.
