Position Overview

Eden Scott’s exclusive client is an entrepreneurial and recently established wind energy project development company with a rapidly growing portfolio of circa 300MW of early development phase, large scale onshore wind projects ranging in potential output capacity and located throughout the United Kingdom.

Due to their current growth our client is looking to expand their team with an experienced and driven Wind Development Land Manager reporting to the Development Director. This position is offering a permanent placement within an entrepreneurial environment with a competitive salary based on relevant industry experience. The position will be based in either Edinburgh or Inverness with regular travel.

Responsibilities

  • Site identification, initial appraisal and negotiation of Heads of Terms either through bilateral discussion or tender.
  • Secure land option and lease agreements.
  • Timely management of the land assembly process to budget and deadline including management of external lawyers.
  • Assist in the resolution any planning constraints where land matters are involved as appropriate.
  • Provide regular reporting of progress on land agreements.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified ideally in a relevant discipline such as Land Economics, Surveying, Environmental Science, Geography or Town Planning.
  • Experience of site search and identification of suitable development land for onshore renewable project development.
  • MRICS or MRTPI qualified with 5 years post qualification experience in the acquisition of land for renewables development, ideally in the wind sector, or for an established land agent or general practice surveying firm active within the renewables sector.
  • Experience of undertaking landowner and land agent negotiations in respect of renewable option and lease agreements essential.
  • Flexible approach to undertaking business travel on a regular basis.
  • Team player, with good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with ability to deal with multiple stakeholders including fielding enquiries from members of the public, including participating in community engagement and public exhibition work.
