We assist in finding development options that will efficiently obtain development permits while meeting local, state, and federal regulations. Those regulations exist so governments can help provide clean air, water, and soil for the enjoyment of all their constituents.

Position Overview

RayEA, LLC Ecological Applications is hiring one to three experienced professionals with 3-5 years background in preparing Federal Water Pollution Control Act (FWPCA) permitting (preferably in Georgia and South Carolina) and/or writing National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation anywhere in the U.S. Since this is document writing, the work can be performed from any location. You do not have to be located or relocate to the location of the projects.

Responsibilities

We have immediate need for assistance preparing three Individual Section 404 Dredge and Fill Permits: one for Charleston District (SC) and two for Savannah District (GA).

  • Responsibilities may include delineation report writing, graphics preparation, GIS impact calculations, application package writing and compilation.
  • This work will also require coordination with design team engineers, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers agents, SCDHEC agents, and GDNR/EPD agents.

We also have immediate need for someone to assist in revision of an Environmental Assessment (EA) for a project on an Air Force Base in Georgia.

  • We require actual experience writing EAs and a general familiarity with all components and categories of an EA.
  • This work will require coordination and consultation with project engineers and environmental scientists.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience writing one or more of the above described document types (preferably both NEPA and FWPCA documents).
  • Preference for experience with Savannah and/or Charleston District offices of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat Professional is preferred.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, simple area calculation, and map/figure preparation is a plus.
  • Appropriate education background- Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, Wetland Science, Biology, Engineering or related discipline.
  • Other demonstrable characteristics should include self-directed, independent work ethic; sound decision-making capabilities; regulatory research skills; strong writing, quantitative, organizational, computer, communication, and interpersonal skills.
