Position Overview

YMCA Camp Mason seeks individuals for positions teaching students outdoor, environmental and recreational activities. Instructors have full-time schedules including weekends and evenings.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and teach outdoor education classes to groups of students; supervise outdoor recreation activities for visiting groups.
  • Curriculum development.
  • Maintain specialized outdoor education equipment.
  • Assist with cleaning and preparation of camp facilities.
  • Help maintain key hiking trails.

Qualifications

  • Must be comfortable outdoors and familiar with outdoor recreation and natural sciences, and capable of supervising children.
  • Must be 21 or older.
  • First Aid, CPR and lifeguard training will be provided.

Compensation

  • Stipend paid for seasonal contract additional to fully paid room and board.
  • $380-$420 per week.
  • Evening program work pays an additional $15 per hour.
  • Spring season runs from April 1st - June 16th, 2019 with opportunity to extend to summer and fall employment for the right candidate.
