Position Overview

ERG seeks a bright, motivated individual to support a range of environmental data and policy projects in our Lexington, Massachusetts, office. The Environmental Analyst will be an active part of an multi-disciplinary team working for the U.S. EPA and other government clients.

ERG is a nationally recognized consulting firm specializing in environmental science and engineering, climate change, occupational safety and health, economics, risk assessment, information technology, facility management, and training, communications, and outreach. At ERG, you will have the opportunity to contribute to emerging environmental policy research and program support, develop your analytical and programming skills, and be challenged by your colleagues and work.

Responsibilities

  • Accessing EPA regulatory databases and non-EPA databases.
  • Using statistical software to analyze data and characterize specific industries, facilities, environmental issues, and geographic regions.
  • Researching various scientific and technical topics.
  • Analyzing trends.
  • Documenting methodologies.
  • Producing reports and outreach materials.
  • Generating tables, maps, and graphs to convey results.

Qualifications

  • To be considered for this position, you must be a recent college graduate with a science or engineering degree (environmental engineering, environmental sciences, earth science, chemistry, etc.), quantitative skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and strong attention to detail.
  • The ideal candidate will be conversant in a variety of scientific disciplines and comfortable with programming in statistical software packages (e.g., R, SAS), database and spreadsheet design, and data visualization software (e.g., Qlik Sense).
  • Knowledge of emerging environmental issues and U.S., state, and local environmental regulations and programs is a plus.
