Draper Fisher Jurvetson Gotham (DFJ Gotham) is a venture capital firm focused on early-stage technology companies in the Greater New York Region. As a Draper Fisher Jurvetson affiliate fund, we benefit significantly from the resources of a global network of DFJ professionals in over 30 cities, managing $3 billion in capital invested in over 500 portfolio companies.
Draper Fisher Jurvetson Gotham invests in early-stage technology companies located on the US East Coast. We also invest in Israeli companies when their plans involve the development of a U.S. presence. DFJ Gotham is a generalist information technology (IT) investor, meaning that the firm will invest in all sub-sectors of the IT space. These sub-sectors include, but are not limited to: digital media, e-commerce, financial technology, mobile and network infrastructure.
DFJ Gotham generally leads investment rounds. Our seed investments range from $100K to $500K, Series A investments typically range from $1M to $3M, and we invest up to $6-8 million over the lifetime of our relationship. Although we focus on ICT we have made some investments in green companies including: VerTerra (green products) and Widetronix (energy storage). Within that investment area we are likely to be mainly interested in companies that operate at the interface of ICT and green products, services, or technology.
