The Business in Development (BiD) Challenge is a worldwide business plan competition. It offers entrepreneurs the opportunity to develop and execute business plans that improve living standards in developing countries at a profit. By participating in the BiD Challenge, entrepreneurs get access to professional coaches and business contacts, exposure to investors and a chance to win prize money. Furthermore, through the BiD Challenge, companies, organisations and professionals are offered a unique possibility to share their competence and expertise directly with entrepreneurs in developing countries. The BiD Challenge consists of one International Competition and 7 National Competitions in India, Philippines, Tanzania, Kenya, Argentina, Peru and Colombia.
Entrepreneurs submit their business plan information to the online BiD system and it becomes open to BiD professional coaches and the public. If a business plan has passed through the evaluation stage it becomes open to investor matchmaking for loans and equity investments. BiD network participants must be seeking from $10k to $1 million in investment.
