Biography

NMCC provides equity capital investment and management resources to existing businesses throughout New Mexico, particularly in under-invested and rural areas. At least 40% of the fund will be invested outside the Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Los Alamos metropolitan areas. 

The Fund will not invest more than 15% of its capital in any single portfolio company. The average investment will range from $ 250,000 to $ 500,000. Many investments will involve the reservation of follow-on capital ranging between 50% and 100% of the initial investment amount. We will conduct transactions through Purchase of preferred stock, Purchase of common stock, Issuance of promissory note convertible to preferred stock, or Debt with warrants. We will invest in businesses that have at least 5 employees, 2 years of operation, cash flow positive, with sales of not less than $500,000 for the previous twelve months.

 NMCC is particularly interested in the following industries: artisan, tourism, consumer and business products and services, light manufacturing, food processing/organic foods, light manufacturing, renewable energy and environmental remediation. Within the clean technology sector we have made investments in a green building products firm (American Clay), a spill monitoring company (Wellkeeper), and water purification and treatment (Miox Corporation).
