Biography

Deutsche Investitions- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH (DEG), a member of KfW banking group, finances investments in private companies in developing and transition countries. As one of Europe’s largest development organizations, DEG fosters the development of private business structures to contribute to sustainable economic growth and better living conditions. 

DEG is committed to the Millennium Development Goals for sustainable poverty reduction. Our focus is on agriculture, infrastructure, manufacturing and financial sectors. We work in in key regions in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe, where we have our own offices and, for our clients and contacts active site. We offer long-term financing in the form of loans, mezzanine financing, equity investments and guarantees. We typically finance large scale projects in the millions to tens of millions of dollars.

DEG invests in profitable, ecologically and socially sustainable projects in all sectors of the economy open to private entrepreneurial initiative: in agriculture and in manufacturing, in services and in the infrastructure sector. DEG promotes power generation favoring renewable energy or local resources.
