Biography

Wide range of educational offerings: from certificates in climate change, food justice, sustainability and more, to a Master’s in Urban Sustainability or a PhD in Environmental Studies.  

Climate change education is essential for addressing perhaps the biggest environmental and social challenge in human history. AUNE’s Department of Environmental Studies is a  leader in climate change preparedness and education, as evidenced by the Educators Summit at the Local Solutions: Northeast Climate Change Preparedness Conference. The certificate can be completed within 32 weeks. Climate Change Education certificate classes meet one day/week or as intensives, aligned with our current Environmental Studies’ delivery models.

Biography

Leadership & Sustainable Business engages students in reflective inquiry into the nature of dynamic leadership and resilient organizational life, with a particular emphasis on guiding systemic and participatory change in a quickly evolving, interconnected and multicultural world. Studies emphasize social responsibility and entrepreneurial innovation.

A Leadership and Sustainable Business concentration requires a minimum of 45 credits. Students take at least one class in each of the six areas of learning listed below. 

  1. Leadership
  2. Systems Change
  3. Applied Leadership
  4. Political Economy and Globalization
  5. Financial Theory & Practice or Sustainable Business Development/Marketing
  6. Resilience/Sustainability
