Position Overview

Cosentini Associates is seeking a Sustainability Coordinator to join its growing team. This position supports all aspects of project management for clients seeking green building and wellness certifications for large-scale commercial and multi-family residential buildings. Projects include high profile buildings with sophisticated design and development teams.

Applicants must have direct work experience in sustainability with an architecture, building science or design background, knowledge of LEED and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The role requires a self-starter with keen attention to detail and effective organizational skills.   Candidates must be deadline driven with the ability to excel whether working independently or collaboratively.

Responsibilities

  • Support green building and wellness certification projects from inception through final certification
  • Ensure sustainability initiatives are integrated into project construction documents and specifications
  • Educate contractors on submittal requirements for certifications
  • Provide reviews of and comments on LEED specific submittals
  • Interface and develop relationships with green building certification organizations
  • Maintain up to date knowledge on changes to green building systems and programs
  • Review and provide critical feedback on all project documentation including technical calculations
  • Ensure all deliverables are high quality and submitted on time
  • Research, analysis and report writing

Qualifications

Required:

  • B.S. or B.A. in engineering, architecture, building science, environmental science or equivalent
  • Minimum one year of direct experience in sustainability within the building design and construction industry
  • Exemplary project management skills with an emphasis on schedule, scope and deliverables
  • Management of green building projects from inception through final certification
  • Knowledge of the LEED Rating System including LEED BD+C v3 (2009) NC, CS and CI and LEED v4
  • Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications
  • Advanced Excel, Word, AutoCAD, and PowerPoint skills
  • Proficiency in developing presentations
  • Excellent written and oral communication capabilities

Preferred:

  • LEED AP BD+C accreditation
  • Experience with Living Building Challenge, BREEAM, Estidama, Enterprise Green Communities, WELL and Green Globes
  • Technical understanding of whole building energy analysis
  • LEED EBOM and ND project management experience
  • Experience with campus and group projects using USGBC’s Application Guide for Multiple Buildings and Campus Buildings
  • MS/MA in engineering, architecture or environment/sustainability field
  • In-depth knowledge of building systems
