~ Since 1971, the Ecology Action Centre has been working at the local, regional, national and more recently, international level to build a healthier and more sustainable world. While all of our work is connected to Nova Scotia, we draw inspiration from many places. ~

We work closely with communities as well as social and natural scientists and make strong use of science in communicating our message.

Our vision is "A society in Nova Scotia that respects and protects nature and provides environmentally and economically sustainable solutions for its citizens."

Position Overview:

The Ecology Action Centre one of the most active and outspoken environmental charities in Atlantic Canada is seeking students or recent graduates to help strengthen our movement by canvassing for new members of our Centre. 

  • This is your chance to dip your toes into the charitable sector, to learn about the ecology of our province, gain meaningful employment to help build your career and a chance to cultivate lifelong valuable skills in communications and fundraising.
  • Membership canvassing is an incredibly important position at the Ecology Action Centre and is valued as such.
  • Canvassers engage with individuals on Halifax’s busiest streets and invite new membership to our organization. Hours are 10 – 6, Tuesday to Saturday.
