Renewable Energy Systems Engineer

Cooperating with Gorun New Energy Co., we have accomplished the development and construction of more than 500MW of solar projects. Gorun New Energy Co. has tremendous relationships with suppliers and runs a factory manufacturing high efficiency solar modules.

Summary

Responsible for commercial solar projects design, and for providing electrical engineering expertise within the company and third parties. The engineer will support the development and layout and design for new projects, as well as providing designs and drawing sets for permitting and construction.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business development managers and customers to provide PV project support for development, design and cost estimation activities;
• Understanding of incentive structures, utility tariffs and interconnection rules and regulations in key solar markets;
• Visit project sites to assess and document site dimensions, roof condition, electrical systems, PV array location and utility interconnection options;
• Gather key project technical data from customer, such as site structural and electrical drawings and site electricity load data and costs;
• Prepare solar PV layouts and electrical one-line diagrams in Auto CAD;
• Perform system energy modeling and energy production estimates using PV Syst or Helioscope;
• Prepare and submit utility interconnection applications and permits, as required;
• Assist with the preparation of the project cost estimating sheets;
• Collaborate with business development managers in writing and preparing exhibits for proposals and contracts;
• Assist business development managers with technical aspects of customer presentations;
• Ensure compliance with company, industry, trade, and local jurisdictional safety standards, practices, codes;
• Administer and develop internal CAD standards and library; and
• Perform other duties as required.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering;
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience working in the field of PV solar projects;
• Minimum of 3 years of AutoCAD experience;
• Must be familiar and proficient with Helioscope and other modeling tools;
• Mandarin a plus;
• Honest and self-motivated team player;
• Experience in medium voltage system design of 4kV to 35kV is preferred;
• Ability to climb ladders / survey roofs;
• Experience with permitting and development of commercial PV solar projects;
• Manage relationships with sub-contractors and business partners; and
• Represent the company at marketing events such as trade shows and industry events.
