Description

~ Enterprise's New York-based Technical Service team provides high-quality, low-volume building science and construction monitoring services to affordable housing projects in New York City. ~

These services range from providing energy audits, capital needs assessments, construction scopes & specifications, and construction monitoring services for individual buildings, to broad-scale planning & implementation of energy efficient retrofits for large owners of affordable housing portfolios.

We're located in NYC's financial district. Check out our website to learn more about Enterprise Community Partners.

Position Overview

The National Initiatives Program Associate plays a pivotal role in Enterprise’s Green Communities Certification program and our Climate & Cultural Resilience platform.

Spending the first 3 months immersed in the Green Communities program, the Program Associate will then move to dedicating half of their time to Certification and half of their time as a key project liaison for Enterprise’s Climate & Cultural Resilience platform.

The Program Associate’s role with Green Communities will focus on Certification application reviews and technical assistance.  This is complementary to, yet distinct from, the Program Associate’s role with our Climate & Cultural Resilience platform, which will focus on providing project management support and technical assistance to partner organizations striving to develop and deploy creative placemaking strategies in the context of climate resilience and sustainability projects.

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, enthusiastic, effective team player eager to support both the Enterprise team and external partners.  The position requires excellent project management and communication skills and the ability to perform a wide array of detail-oriented tasks in a fast paced environment with light supervision.

The position represents an opportunity to more fully integrate green building, resident engagement, and creative placemaking strategies within the affordable housing sector.  Through time on the Green Communities program, the Program Associate will gain technical and programmatic knowledge/skills related to operating a national green building program.

Through work with the Climate & Cultural Resilience platform, the Program Associate will gain hands-on experience fostering emerging creative placemaking strategies with communities around the country.

This position will be based in Washington, D.C. and will require up to 15% travel.

  • Working knowledge of residential construction, affordable housing, healthy housing, and sustainability/green building.
