Position Overview

Kleinschmidt has an immediate opening for an entry to mid-level Geotechnical Engineer in our Fitchburg, Wisconsin, office.

Responsibilities

  • Typical duties of this position include geotechnical and general civil design tasks under the direction of mid- and senior-level staff.
  • The successful candidate will be part of a team of technical professionals working on various hydro and other "green energy" projects in the U.S.
  • The successful candidate will be mentored by our senior staff in the fields of dam safety, geotechnical, structural, civil, and hydraulic engineering.

Qualifications

  • BS in Geotechnical or Geological Engineering from an ABET accredited college/university with 2-5 years' experience. A Master's degree is desirable.
  • Possess EIT designation working towards PE exam or qualified to sit for FE exam.
  • Course work in soil and rock mechanics, hydrogeology/fluid mechanics and field methods.
  • Basic knowledge of standards applicable to structural and geotechnical engineering discipline.
  • Experience with stability and seepage modeling software (preferably Slope/W and Seep/W) and CAD software.
  • High Proficiency with MS Office Suite and Adobe.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with a multi-discipline design team.
  • Must possess permanent authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be willing to travel.
