Position Overview

ENERCON has an immediate opening for an Environmental Compliance Leader in our Kennesaw (GA), Dallas, Houston, OKC, Tulsa or Sacramento locations to serve our client's needs by evaluating, planning, improving/organizing, and performing environmental compliance and chemical management consulting services including but not limited to air, water and chemical permitting. This role also includes leading the national compliance service line of ENERCON including P&L control, business development and strategic planning activities to develop overall growth.

Responsibilities

The position will focus on multi-media environmental compliance and chemical management by:

  • Leading the day to day profitable activities of the national environmental compliance group including technical quality of work products, business development activities and long range strategic planning.
  • Providing leadership by example, ensuring that the environmental compliance group is market facing in the pursuit of “tip of the sword” entry services for new clients and value based programmatic services for Fortune 500 private sector clients.
  • Being a “thought leader” who is comfortable leading communication and procedure development on existing or new technical issues associated with environmental compliance. This quality will be validated by active membership in technical committees/societies, published papers and similar external venues.
  • Growing the service line by pursuing client development and marketing efforts with value based services, including sales initiatives associated with regulatory compliance, permitting, sustainability and environmental management system (EMS) development for the Company.
  • Assessing current and future market trends to identify potential areas for growth.
  • Developing existing and new clients including identifying and responding to RFPs and RFQs.
  • Achieving client objectives by obtaining information, evaluating concerns and needs, as well as establishing associated return on investments for compliance and sustainability work.
  • Providing excellent communication while presenting recommendations both orally and in written reports.
  • Mentoring and coaching junior staff.
  • Preparing or directing permit applications, compliance plans, sustainability programs and regulatory reporting.
  • Performing or directing calculations of pollutant loading and determining compliance status.
  • Conducting or directing environmental multi-media audits, inspections, and sampling.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelors' degree in Engineering, Environmental Science or related discipline.
  • 10 or more years of experience in environmental compliance or chemical management work including multi-media auditing, EMS development, Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures Plans (SPCCs); Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs), Stormwater and Wastewater Sampling; Air Quality; EMS; RCRA permitting; or similar work.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership of a growing nationwide practice including P&L and sales responsibilities.
  • Strong problem solving and scientific evaluation skills with clear and effective verbal and written communication styles.
  • Self-starter and ability to develop and maintain/nurture client relationships.
  • Computer skills including knowledge of MS Office, Word & Excel.
  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training preferred.
  • This position requires a clear Motor Vehicle report/driving history.
  • Certifications and license preferred.
