Position Overview

stok is looking for an experienced Energy Analyst to provide commissioning, energy modeling, and energy auditing support for our high performance building projects. At stok you will have the opportunity to apply technical expertise in an innovative environment for some of the most high-profile building projects in the world, including the new Golden State Warriors Arena and Salesforce Tower.

Our objective with every project is to improve performance whether it is energy, water, materials, occupant comfort or a variety of other factors. We are looking for someone with a wide breadth of technical knowledge and an appetite for helping our engineering team constantly improve.

Responsibilities

  • Support LEED and Title-24 commissioning projects
  • Perform ASHRAE Level I and II energy audits
  • Build 3-D models based on Architectural and MEP drawings and specifications
  • Use a broad range of performance modeling tools to analyze design improvements, focusing on energy, human comfort and associated cost impacts
  • Analyze building designs for compliance with building codes and standards, including LEED and Title 24
  • Develop detailed and concise reports and supporting documentation to communicate analysis results to a wide range of diverse partners
  • Assist with LEED Online coordination and documentation
  • Provide research support on cutting edge sustainable design and construction strategies and technologies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in the building engineering field
  • EIT, CEM, or PE Licensure a plus
  • Experience supporting energy efficiency projects
  • Knowledge of life cycle cost analysis a plus
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills
  • Knowledge of energy modeling programs including EnergyPlus, OpenStudio, IES, DesignBuilder, EnergyPro, CBECC-Com
