Position Overview

The primary objective of this position is to function as the Principle Investigator in the initiation and planning, budgeting, implementation, and close of multiple, concurrent complex environmental projects related to hydroelectric licensing and compliance related efforts within the Environmental Affairs Water Quality Resource Group.

Responsibilities

  • Principle investigators take a leadership role in describing natural resources, developing monitoring plans to ensure quality data, managing and analyzing data, and reporting effects of Company activities on the natural resources.
  • The successful candidate must coordinate with other Company staff to identify and assign resources and work products, as well as, consult with regulatory agencies and non-governmental groups as it relates to hydroelectric projects and their ongoing operation.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in biology, ecology, or a natural resources-related field.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree or higher in biology, ecology, or a natural resources-related field.

Experience:

  • 3 years experience as an environmental professional or equivalent specialized training in natural resource, ecology or management with the demonstrated ability to develop written plans and communicate monitoring results both oral and written.

Preferred:

  • 2 or more years demonstrated ability to develop written plans and communicate monitoring results both oral and written
  • Experience consulting or negotiating with governmental and non-governmental groups.

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record based on driving requirements for the position.
  • DOT Medical Card required to obtain prior to hire.
  • Must obtain First Aid/CPR card within 90 days of hire.
