Position Overview

An established and growing manufacturer/distributor in the natural supplement industry is seeking an experienced individual with solid accounting experience to join our team in the position of Accountant-Full Charge Bookkeeper. Our warehouse is located in the Hayden track of Culver City. 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include: Bank Reconciliations; Payroll, all aspects; Sales Tax Returns, W-2's, 1099's; and financial statement preparation. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently and manage multiple accounting tasks.

Must be cheerful, self-motivated, well organized, and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines. Candidate must be detail oriented and understanding the Bookkeeping process from start to finish. MacroLife Naturals is looking for a team player, individuals who cannot multi-task work or assist co-workers need not apply

The job descriptions is as follows:

Accounts Receivable:

  • Prepare invoices and purchase orders (via e-mail or regular mail)
  • Apply payments to invoices, and prepare checks for deposit
  • Verify and cross reference charge back-deductions taken by customers on invoices – dispute any incorrect deductions
  • Follow up on discrepancies in deductions
  • Review A/R aging and follow up on collections, ensure prompt and timely payments are made

Accounts Payable:

  • Match receiving document against trade payable before entering into Quick Books
  • Enter regular bills – cross reference bills to quotes
  • Ensure proper coding of expenses especially for credit card expenses
  • Review A/P aging and ensure accuracy of due dates
  • Review weekly cash flow for weekly checks run

Banking:

  • Weekly reconciliation of bank balances
  • Record and reconcile credit card statements monthly

Payroll:

  • Biweekly payroll
  • Ensure proper accountability for employees time off deduction
  • Keep track of vacation and sick time schedule

Qualifications

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Accounting degree (preferred) or equivalent
  • Novices need not apply, there is no on the job training provided
  • Minimum 10 years of accounting experience
  • Inventory management is a big plus 
  • Distribution chain experience preferred
  • Proficient in QuickBooks Enterprise version and Microsoft Office application
  • Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize
  • Reliable

Compensation: This is a full time position and salary will be commensurate with experience. All candidates will be tested.
