Position Overview

The Account Manager is responsible for managing profitable sales and developing customer relationships. This sales role carries mid-level revenue and account responsibility. Hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. M-F. We offer a unique office setting in historic Hudson, WI, just East of St. Paul, MN.

Responsibilities

  • Regularly meets with customers, in person or via video conference, to build and maintain strong business relationships
  • With periodic guidance from division manager, manages ongoing business with assigned customers. Works to identify and prioritize sales opportunities and establish relationships with external decision makers
  • Understands customer's business operations, strategies and goals and aligns applicable opportunities
  • Offers consultative sales support, technical assistance and application recommendations to customers
  • With guidance from division manager, negotiates pricing and manages contracts with accounts
  • Works with customers to proactively develop business plans to meet their needs. Provides accurate and timely internal forecasts and communicates variances to supply chain teams
  • Uses data and other tools to lead the sales process and recommend solutions, internally and externally
  • With periodic guidance from division manager, acts as the voice of the customer and leads effective cross-functional communication, ensuring issues are well managed with effective follow up to customers
  • Provides monthly business updates, with a review of business results and a summary of customer issues and opportunities. Meets or exceeds a variety of sales performance metrics
  • Networks within the industry to promote Ciranda visibility and brand recognition. Stays informed of market conditions as they relate to our industry
  • Travel Expectation: 30-40 days per year

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • A combined 5-7 years of professional business experience
  • At least 2 years of sales in the food, or preferably food ingredients industry
  • Demonstrated understanding of functional food ingredients, the R&D cycle and NPD processes
  • A four-year degree in business, marketing, finance or related field strongly preferred

  • Dependability and a strong work ethic
  • Passion and support for the use and expansion of organic, sustainable, fair trade food ingredients
  • Demonstrated self-starter who is comfortable working independently and as a part of a team
  • Energetic with a positive outlook. " Secondary language skills are a plus

Compensation: Salary is DOQ.Our benefit package includes: Health Insurance (EE premium 100% paid by ER) with Health Savings Account and potential employer contribution; Life/ADD/STD/LTD insurance (EE premium 100% paid by ER); 401k with 3% contribution; vacation and sick time; company holidays, Optional Voluntary Life & ADD (paid by EE), potential for annual bonus and profit sharing.
