With an annual operating budget of more than $170 million, it is the largest water utility in New Mexico.

A political subdivision of the state, the Water Authority is governed by an eight-member Governing Board consisting of three Albuquerque City Councilors, three Bernalillo County Commissioners, the Mayor of Albuquerque, and a non-voting member from the Village of Los Ranchos.

Position Overview

The Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority is seeking a Senior Engineer position assigned to Pretreatment and Cross Connection. 

Responsibilities

  • This position will perform a wide variety of professional engineering duties in support of assigned water and/or wastewater facilities, infrastructure, and environmental engineering.
  • This engineer must ensure technical competence and compliance with all federal, state and local regulations and ordinances, including but not limited to enforcing the Water Authority Ordinances in assigned area. 

Qualifications

  • Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, plus 5 years of professional engineering experience to include 2 years supervisory experience in a management and/or administrative capacity. 
  • Licensed as Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of New Mexico or ability to obtain license within one year from date of hire. 

Compensation: Salary $59,820 - $71,510/annual.
