~ The American River Natural History Association (ARNHA) and the Effie Yeaw Nature Center are dedicated to bringing awareness of the beauty and diversity of the natural world to children, families, and the community through education initiatives that foster appreciation, enjoyment, and stewardship of the unique natural and cultural resources of the Sacramento region. ~
A natural wildlife oasis in an urban area, the Nature Center is set among 100 acres of oak woodland along the American River Parkway in Carmichael, California. Here visitors learn about our region’s natural history plus the importance of conserving and protecting our most precious natural resources. Over the last 40 years the Center has provided programs and quiet respite from urban life to more than 1.6 million visitors.
Position Overview
The American River Natural History Association (ARNHA) is seeking a full-time executive director. ARNHA is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the Sacramento regional community by providing natural history and interpretive education through a variety of programs, including the operation of the Effie Yeaw Nature Center (EYNC).
We seek an enthusiastic and accomplished leader dedicated to pursuing ARNHA/EYNC’s strategic goals through a proven ability in fundraising, program oversight, collaborative ventures and constituency building.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for environmental education and a background that includes financial and staff management combined with an demonstrated understanding of charitable giving and proven success in raising significant funds from individuals, foundations, corporations and public entities.
