Position Overview

Langan has an opening for an Environmental Engineer or Scientist – 10 to 20 Years of Experience with Contaminated Sediments in our Warrington, PA office. As the successful candidate, you will have the unique blend of technical expertise in sediment issues and the ability to help develop our Sediment Remediation Business. A strong engineering and/or science background is essential. You will be contributing your expertise and leveraging the experience of our professionals in Risk Assessment, Site Investigation, and Remedial Technology.

Responsibilities

  • Duties will include but are not limited to: leading and directing sediment, pore water and surface water assessments, remedial investigations, feasibility studies, remedial design, and remediation oversight and management.
  • Experience developing remedial alternatives, designing sediment caps and sediment removal actions are a plus.
  • You will work side by side with a nationally recognized sediment expert to build the practice.
  • In addition to your technical contributions, you will have a senior role in developing the Langan sediment remediation business.
  • This will include client development, proposals, and presentations to share our technical achievements that meet and exceed client goals! If you have been waiting for the opportunity to transcend the traditional seller-doer model, we are looking forward to hearing your ideas.
  • You will provide sediment expertise to project managers further developing our existing client base, while developing and leading the growth of your own projects to grow the practice.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or related discipline (Masters Preferred).
  • At least 10 years of hands-on experience working on complicated sediment remediation projects for research, regulatory, or industrial clients.
  • Knowledge and understanding of EPA, NJ and PA environmental regulations.
  • OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification desired.
  • Candidates must be able to spend at least 25% of working hours in the field, although typical field commitments will be less.
  • Possess reliable transportation to access remote job sites and a valid driver’s license in good standing.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, judgment and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow direction and work independently, as well as in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and organization skills.
  • Working knowledge of computers; GIS modeling and mapping experience, and advanced statistical experience a bonus.
  • Position requires work Monday through Friday with occasional evenings and weekends.
