The Department will continue to respond as the public becomes more aware of environmental areas such as recycling and litter control, air quality and toxics, sewage and industrial wastewater, wetlands and general hydrogeologic concerns.

Position Overview
Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality is seeking an Environmental Chemical Specialist.
Responsibilities
- Performs detailed engineering review of processes and/or emission control technology, researching and writing complex air permits, or assists in answering questions on environmental matters from the general public, environmental groups and the regulated community (Dependent upon Office/Division placement).
- This position is part of a career progression group and may be filled as an Environmental Chemical Specialist 1, 2 or 3.
- Job title is dependent upon years of professional experience and/or education.

Qualifications
- A baccalaureate degree in chemical or mechanical engineering.
