Position Overview

Recognizing the connection that events and programming play in creating an active and lively Waterfront, WPB seeks to hire an outgoing, dynamic, and energetic Events Coordinator to engage with Waterfront stakeholders, outside event producers, business professionals, and the general public to assist in the production of events/programming at our Waterfront parks. The Events Coordinator will report to the Events Manager to coordinate Waterfront Partnership’s ongoing programming for Waterfront parks.

This position reports to the Events Manager. Within the Organization, the position has a primary working relationship with the Events Manager, Director of Marketing, staff of the Marketing/P.R./Events function, and service providers. Outside the Organization, the position coordinates, primarily, with the general public and service providers.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the coordination, permitting, and on site management of all annually occurring Waterfront Wellness, Street Performer Program, Harbor Market, Amphitheater Performances, Ice Rink daily programming, and Harbor Point programming.
  • Assist with the development of new Waterfront Partnership programs annually.
  • Execute the fulfillment of sponsorship contracts for all Waterfront Partnership programs and events.
  • Assist in the management of events budgets for all Waterfront Partnership.
  • Purchase all necessary event supplies in accordance with approved budgets.
  • Maintain an inventory of all supplies.
  • Assist with the distribution of program specific marketing materials and literature.
  • Provide support for marketing events and exhibitions as required.
  • Write articles, blog posts and promotional material for the Organization as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, public relations, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years experience working in events.
  • Passion for working in Baltimore City and creating events to draw locals to the Waterfront.
  • Positive, proactive, and solutions-oriented.
  • Must be well-organized and able to work independently and as part of a multifaceted partnership team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, strong listening skills, patience, and humor.
  • Comfortable working in a professional office environment as well as on site at events that take place in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing approximately 30lbs.
  • Comfortable with public speaking.
  • Experienced user of Microsoft Office (Power Point, Excel, and Word).
  • Clean driving record and reliable transportation.
  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends.

Compensation: This is a full-time position. Yearly compensation is $32,000 – $36,000 commensurate with experience. WPB offers excellent benefits, including vacation time, 401(k) plan, health insurance, life insurance, long-term disability, short-term disability, and flextime.
