Description
~ The Taconic Outdoor Education Center (TOEC) welcomes all visitors, including colleges, elementary to high schools, scout troops, youth groups and clubs. ~
Highland Lodge, with a wood-burning stone fireplace, colorful nature displays, comfortable woodland cabins, friendly service, excellent meals and knowledgeable educators is a perfect fit for these activities. Some visitors stay overnight, while others visit for a day. Center staff also visit schools and provide lessons in classrooms.
TOEC supports a variety of year-round day and overnight educational, team building and business programs.

Position Overview
Taconic Outdoor Education Center has an opening for an Outdoor Educator (Summer 20017). Interviews for this position will begin in late May. The position will begin in late June.
Responsibilities
- Design, and instruct small group environmental activities geared to the ability levels of elementary children.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 2 years of college in Life Sciences, Environmental Studies, Education, Nature Interpretation, or related field.
- Teaching experience with elementary children in either a formal or informal setting. Ropes Course experience desired.
- First Aid Training desirable.
Compensation: $340.00 - $420.00 per-week plus room & board, possible medical benefits and Civil Service Employees Association union benefits.
