Position Overview

Growing renewable energy company headquartered in Salt Lake City, with offices in San Francisco, Long Beach and New York, seeks experienced renewable energy Project Manager (PM) with at least 3-5 years’ experience in the timely and cost-effective implementation of utility-scale renewable energy projects. The PM will lead all related project activities from initial due diligence, into project development, and through the successful financing and construction of the project.

Responsibilities

sPower seeks a motivated and energetic project manager that will have the responsibility to evaluate and execute projects from development through to commercial operations. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead projects through development, engineering and construction via close coordination with the various sPower subject matter experts and external consultants.
  • Responsible for delivering a financeable asset to the finance team for tax equity and debt financing, as well as supporting the finance team during its process including diligence inquiry, and meeting conditions precedent of the finance documents.
  • Coordinate with the M&A team to lead project opportunity diligence across all subjects of development, engineering and construction.
  • Develop relationships with all project stake holders to ensure a smooth path for the project as it moves from concept to commercial operations.
  • Respond to ad-hoc inquiries from the Asset Management team following the commercial operations date.
  • Proactively manage and problem solve potential project risks including development, construction, scope, schedule and budget.
  • Execute, enforce and participate in the negotiation of:
    • Development consultant contracts.
    • Engineering Procurement and construction agreements.
    • Interconnection Agreements.
    • Finance documents.
    • Land agreements and tile curative documents.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years’ professional experience in solar and/or wind project development and management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project and other related programs.
  • Strong technical, supervisory and project management skills in renewables industry; familiarity with project controls for engineering, procurement and construction.
  • Preference given for experience navigating the construction and tax equity financing solar and/or wind projects.

  • Team player with strong initiative, able to work autonomously to complete tasks but equally able to enlist the support of cross-functional team members and external suppliers and partners.
  • Track record of ability to instill confidence as a credible, reliable and expert support resource for team members.
  • Passion for the renewable energy industry.
