Bridgetown’s production capabilities include extruded bars and baked goods, slab-formed bars, granolas, cookies, and clustered items. Our mission is to partner with the leading all-natural and organic brands to deliver sustainable, healthy food products of the highest quality. We support our partners with services including product development, sourcing and procurement, custom ingredients, bulk and finished case production and fulfillment.

Position Overview

The Document Control Specialist is responsible for supporting Food Safety and Quality documentation and logistical requirements. The individual in this role will primarily support the Quality Coordinator to ensure the successful completion of documentation and sample shipments in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for adherence to quality policies as they relate to Hold and Release:
    • Monitor completion of paperwork (Production, Sanitation, QA)
    • Update inventory to reflect Hold or Release status
    • Backup for completion of Finished Good COAs with accurate information from Quality Paperwork and outside lab results reports in a professional format for customer communications
  • Partner with all departments to:
    • Record production usages of raw materials
    • Sample, pack and ship customer samples as required
  • Assist with Identity Preserved Foods programs:
    • Point of contact for Kosher CB representatives during site visits
    • Update Register of Raw Materials with current Kosher certificates
    • Submit Kosher Schedule update requests
    • Back-up contact for Organic CB and Gluten-Free CB
  • Coordinate outside testing:
    • Raw material and FG micro testing
    • Environmental testing
    • Non-standard testing (gluten, allergen, etc.)
    • Coordinate customer sample shipments
    • Update shipment log
    • Revise sampling schedule, as needed
  • Other Duties as Assigned

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Quality or document control at a food manufacturing facility preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to pay attention to detail is critical
  • Ability to work successfully with others at all levels within the organization
  • Basic proficiency with Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Ability to communicate and understand instructions in English

Working Conditions/Physical Factors:

  • Able to conduct work in adherence to SQF and Bridgetown Natural Foods policies
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds
  • Ability to safely maneuver through a production and warehouse environment (10%)
  • Position requires sitting for long periods of time working in an office environment (90%)
  • Able to work in environment containing nuts, peanuts, dairy, grains and other allergens.
  • Ability to work an occasional weekend and overtime as needed
