Position Overview

Leidos is seeking an experienced Project Manager who can deliver projects on time, within budget and of the utmost quality. This position will be responsible for the overall direction and execution of specific projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals.  

The Project Manager will work across all groups of Hawai‘i Energy implementing some of the key program projects which will include the transformational program.  The Project Manager will further the ongoing development and implementation of Hawai‘i Energy’s portfolio of transformational offerings, which are focused on changing the way Hawai‘i’s businesses understand and relate to their electricity use that will lead to energy savings through behavioral change.  The Project Manager will also oversee other projects which may include website redesign and other program delivery initiatives that result in the achievement of energy savings from commercial customers.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for transformational program plan, business analytics and budget, proposal preparation and analysis, contracts, contract management, and performance management 
  • Responsible for achievement of transformational program goals and monitoring program progress
  • Provide technical, administrative, and operational management of assigned projects, including contract and subcontractor management
  • Create, manage, and control project schedules 
  • Manage all required activities to ensure alignment with multiple schedules and requirements across all projects as well other interfacing systems and projects 
  • Collaborate with Hawai‘i Energy peers to achieve other project manager responsibilities
  • Perform project risk management and create the required status reports. Manage all project deliverables on time, within budget and scope
  • Provide weekly updates on financial status, subcontract performance, and technical attributes of ongoing projects  
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in engineering, environmental science, business, IT, or related area
  • 4 – 8 years of proven experience as Project Manager, Contract Manager or relevant role
  • A Masters degree with 2-6 years of relevant experience will also be considered
  • Thorough understanding of project management techniques and methods
  • Outstanding leadership, organizational skills and administrative skills, including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Demonstrated ability to direct and supervise
  • Demonstrated familiarity and competence in standard corporate procurement processes and procedures, such as developing complete and concise statements of work, ability to develop and implement thorough procurement processes, and ability to hold subcontractors accountable for delivery on time and on budget 
  • Microsoft Office experience 

Ideal Skills:

  • Experience in community outreach and engagement; use of online media / internet; exposure to public relations
  • Excellent writer, and presenter
  • Excellent problem solving ability
  • Strong technical background or experience in energy efficiency or the energy industry
  • IT project management experience
