Building Energy Modeling Analyst

Gilleran Energy Management works with owners, developers, design and construction team members to find ways to integrate industry best energy practices into new and existing buildings. Kevin and his team focus on practical implementation of current and reliable energy efficiency, conservation measures and renewable energy into existing and new buildings.

Gilleran Energy Management is actively involved in both commercial and residential projects. Our projects have participated in regional and nationally known programs: Energy Star for Businesses and Homes, USGBC LEED for commercial and residential buildings consulting, Federal and State Housing Tax Credit Programs (CTCAC), Building Commissioning, Measurement and Verification services as well as Build It Green GreenPoint Rated programs that serve existing and new single family and multifamily homes.

Position Overview

Gilleran Energy Management is growing and seeks a qualified Building Energy Modeling Analyst to join our team. We are Green Building Professionals committed to improving our built environment. The successful candidates will possess expertise in the field of energy efficiency in buildings. This position requires analysis and personal initiative to meet the needs of our clients. Duties include (but are not limited to) energy modeling for code and Zero Net Energy path compliance, client interaction, energy analysis, and CALGreen and HERS project services for residential and commercial projects.

Responsibilities 

• Conduct energy modeling of commercial and high rise residential facilities
• Perform detailed energy baseline and utility accounting analysis
• Identify, evaluate and recommend opportunities to reduce energy consumption
• Provide specific and quantitative recommendations using detailed energy performance analysis
• Preparation of required reporting
• On site verification of energy and green building features

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in a Building Science or Environmental Studies Discipline
• 2 years of energy modeling experience
• An understanding of building systems, particularly HVAC and lighting
• Experience with performing detailed energy savings calculations and energy modeling
• Experience with or knowledge of building automation and energy controls systems a plus
• Experience with LEED and Savings by Design also a plus

Job Specific Knowledge:

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Familiarity with building and energy codes
• Experience with building energy modeling using EnergyPro Software
• CBECC and IESVE software experience a plus
