Description

~ Gro-Bark, is a subsidiary of Walker Environmental, a division of Walker Industries. ~

We supply high performance growing media, innovative and sustainably sourced mulches and bulk soils to nurseries, landscape supply yards and landscapers across much of Ontario, Canada.

We delight customers with tailor-made, custom products according to their specifications, a strong logistics network, and a committed team that cares about our products, customers, and company.

Position Overview

As a high-energy, successful sales rep, you’re looking for two things in your next role: the opportunity to sell a huge amount of product across a wide-open market, and to do so with full marketing and administrative support so you can focus on closing the deal, and not get bogged down in the details.

Your goal in this position is to learn our business and our products inside out, and then sell as widely as possible to help us realize our huge growth potential in a new market. If so, we’re Gro-Bark (https://www.gro-bark.com/) , and we want to hear from you.

Qualifications

  • Ideally, you have experience in the nursery, greenhouse, or agricultural industry
  • We want someone who loves the rush and reward of closing deals, building something from the ground up, and who thrives in big, impactful long-term sales cycles
  • You’re a dynamic, forward thinking builder, someone who is not content with the status quo
  • You take opportunities and run with them, and always seek ways to push the company, and yourself forward

We need someone who is:

  • Highly self-motivated, driven to succeed, and eager to be on the road every single day closing deals
  • An objective, factual straight-shooter who can execute an existing strategy and build market share through sales
  • A champion of profit and growth, but also for creating the structural foundation to support that growth; and
  • Part of a marketing team focused on growth in the Great Lakes region

The very best at this job are:

  • Motivated – they’re driven to succeed, believe in the company’s vision and goals, and dive in to make an immediate impact
  • Confident – they gain the trust of their clients, can speak with empathy and authority to all levels of people, from farmers to CEO’s, and never hesitate to close a deal
  • Innovative – they’re creative in their approach to market penetration, they constantly seek new opportunities, and can build out highly effective long and short-term strategies

Compensation: This is a full-time permanent position, based out of your home office, which we will fully outfit. You’ll spend 80-90% of your time on the road in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Western New York, prospecting and closing new clients, as well as working with our solid book of warm leads. You’ll make a highly attractive base salary of $75,000-$85,000/year, plus bonus, full benefits, vacation, 401k contribution, car allowance, and any technology you need.
