Position Overview

Morrison-Maierle has a part-time opportunity for an Environmental Scientist in our Kalispell, Montana office.

Part-time position (approximately 20 to 30 hours per week). Willing to work with successful candidate to establish a schedule that fits the needs of the candidate and Morrison-Maierle.

Responsibilities

  • The successful applicant will work in the Natural Resources Group and will perform both office and field work as part of their job duties. 
  • Field activities typically consist of wetland delineations, biological data collection, vegetative inventories, ecological monitoring, environmental sampling, and other similar field tasks.
  • Office work includes preparation and submission of work plans and technical reports, input to state and federal regulatory permit applications, and NEPA document support.  
  • Depending on experience, task management, project management and business development duties may also be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in wildlife biology, fisheries, wetland science, biology, botany or related discipline. 
  • 2 to 5 years of experience. 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including oversight and preparation of technical reports and the presentation of information to clients, government entities and various committees. 
  • Interpersonal and public relations skills to work effectively with clients. 
  • High level of personal responsibility and accountability. 
  • Must have a valid driver license and insurable driving record.
