The Environmental Change Initiative (ECI) is a strategic research initiative of the University of Notre Dame, pursuing solutions to several key environmental challenges. Position Overview

The Program Manager (PM) for ECI will oversee the daily operations as well as provide leadership in the strategic direction of the unit. This position will work closely with the ECI team to coordinate the overall operations and activities of the Initiative.

Responsibilities

  • The PM will be responsible for the development and management of the ECI operational budgets and the stewardship of ECI metric data and reporting. Along with the leadership team, the PM will be responsible for developing, implementing and measuring the success of activities that promote faculty collaboration and cultivate intellectual community. 
  • The PM will engage in strategic planning activities with the Director/Associate Directors and other team members and will provide leadership in advancing decisions, activities, and agendas. 
  • This is a highly operational role, engaging with multiple offices and departments across campus and requires a comprehensive knowledge of the functioning of a research enterprise, including the internal academic processes, and the external funding (both federal and non-federal sponsor) landscape.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Environmentally-related field of study preferred.
  • Minimum of three years experience in an academic research setting is required. 
  • The successful candidate will have excellent organizational and time management skills, and possess the ability to interface with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Advanced degree in environmentally-related field preferred.
