Position Overview

Southface is seeking a customer-focused individual to join our team as a Program Assistant supporting the Regenerative Places & Spaces team. Strong personal management skills are required. In addition, the candidate may be familiar with basic building science principles and building performance standards and multifamily development and construction.

The ideal candidate will have educational or work experience in the residential development field. The Regenerative Places & Spaces team currently provides verification and certification services for EarthCraft, LEED for Homes, National Green Building Standard, ENERGY STAR, Home Energy Rating System, Georgia Power home energy efficiency incentives and the Georgia Energy Code.

Monday through Friday between 8:30AM and 5:30PM, with flexible options. Occasional weekend or evening hours.

Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with tracking the environmental and energy efficiency features of projects through visual verification and documentation review
  • Assisting with diagnostic testing, including whole house infiltration and duct leakage testing
  • Recording all project information and inspection notes into a database
  • Other tasks as necessary supporting the Regenerative Places & Spaces team

Qualifications

The successful applicant for the position will meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in building or environmental science, building construction, civil or structural engineering, architecture or related field
  • Demonstrated efficient project management skills
  • A high level of interest in market-based approaches to advance sustainable communities and buildings
  • Computer proficiency and experience with Microsoft programs including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint; MS project or other scheduling software a plus
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving history

Physical Requirements:

  • Where field work is required, performing an inspection involves extensive navigation in and around buildings and construction sites, carrying of equipment weighing 50 lbs. up flights of stairs, climbing ladders and balancing in attic spaces
  • Therefore, an associate must possess some physical dexterity, endurance and balance to safely and effectively accomplish this work
