~ The Alameda County Resource Conservation District (ACRCD) is a special district that works to implement and enhance local conservation efforts on private and public lands in Alameda County. ~

Located in Livermore, CA, we partner with landowners and managers, local organizations, government agencies and other community and stakeholder groups to enhance and restore natural resources by providing education programs, technical assistance, project management and coordination. The ACRCD works closely with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) as the Conservation Partnership (‘Partnership’).

Position Overview

We seek a committed and energetic professional to join our team as an experienced Stream Restoration and Maintenance Specialist (Resource Conservationist II). The ideal candidate will have a combination of a strong educational background and at least two years of experience in stream assessment, maintenance, restoration and management.

Responsibilities

  • The Stream Restoration and Maintenance Specialist provides specialized assistance to the ACRCD in its efforts to help agencies, landowners, and land managers voluntarily conserve natural resources.
  • Specifically, the position coordinates and collaborates with a broad array of organizations, agency staff, and landowners to assist with planning, implementation and monitoring of projects to restore and improve water quality and wildlife habitat.
  • Collaboration with Partnership staff on a range of other resource conservation projects related to climate change resilience, vegetation and biological monitoring and agriculture is also to be expected.
  • The position includes both field and office work.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of agriculture, rangeland, watershed, and conservation planning.
  • Project coordination experience (including grant-writing, contract management, budgeting and reporting).
  • Leadership and facilitation skills are also desirable.
