Position Overview

Organics Out Back is currently seeking an Urban Farmer.

Responsibilities

• Make weekly visits to assigned farms at regularly scheduled times
• Manage all aspects of annual and perennial fruit and vegetable cultivation, including planning, planting, fertilizing, IPM, minor irrigation repairs and timing, harvesting and client education
• Keep detailed records during weekly visits
• Maintain incredible customer service with clients, both in-person and via phone/email
• Adhere to Garden Farms Best Practices in managing farms
• Communicate promptly with supervisor regarding newly installed farms and add them to weekly route in a timely manner
• Provide garden/farm consultation as necessary
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required
• Represent Organics Out Back in a friendly and professional way

Qualifications

• Experience with annual and perennial fruit and vegetable cultivation required; related education in horticulture, crop science, biology, etc a preferred
• Experience working with children, the elderly and large groups preferred
• Friendly, clear and consistent communicator
• Organizational skills and attention to detail a must
• Ability to pass a thorough background check
• Valid driver's license and vehicle

Compensation: DOE, per project plus mileage.
