Position Overview

Delaware Nature Society currently has an opening for a Campaign Manager to join our Advocacy team leading priority state campaigns in Delaware. A private, non-profit membership organization, Delaware Nature Society’s mission is to connect people with the natural world and improve our environment through education, advocacy and conservation.

Delaware Nature Society is pursuing three priority campaigns including clean water, wildlife, and sustainability. The Campaign Manager will lead a collaborative effort to build public awareness around the importance of water quality, increase and protect funding for wildlife, and improve or reform legislative and regulatory actions related to energy sustainability.

Responsibilities

The Campaign Manager will be responsible for leading multiple environmental issue campaigns, convening and corresponding with diverse senior level steering committees representing environmental, sportsman, business owners, engineering firms, and other related constituency groups, developing and ensuring implementation of a campaign plan, and coordinating the associated messaging and field strategies.

Additional responsibilities may include:

  • Create, staff, manage, and implement field campaign opportunities for across the state
  • Serve as the principle point of contact for campaign stakeholders related to messaging and field work
  • Participate in the process of recruiting, hiring and managing of outreach coordinator(s) and contractors, vendors, etc
  • Oversee the production and sourcing of all campaign materials for internal and external use
  • Participate in and lead campaign tactics such as organizing town hall meetings, events, trainings, and meet and greets
  • Lead and facilitate stakeholder meetings and provide strategic campaign advice to campaign partners

Qualifications

Applicants for this position should bring the following expertise, abilities, and attitude:

  • An undergraduate degree in environmental studies, political science, conservation or related field is preferred
  • At least 5 years of professional experience required, including proven capacity to design, implement and adapt a state level campaign plan
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including comfort meeting and talking with new people
  • Familiarity with core tactics of organizing including but not limited to: grassroots organizing/mobilization, grassroots engagement, phone banking, organizational meetings, and volunteer engagement
  • Experience directing and coordinating multiple activities in a collaborative fashion
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and organizational skills required as well as demonstrated ability to work independently, manage staff, and meet multiple deadlines
  • Ability to use data to set goals and measure progress
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
  • Current Driver’s License required
