Position Overview

This position is responsible for supporting and assisting with all activities associated with the development of renewable energy projects.

Responsibilities

  • Provides support to project managers on all aspects associated with renewable energy projects
  • Researches, understands and communicates local zoning requirements
  • Organizes and compiles zoning applications on a timely basis
  • Fulfills applications and permitting requirements for local, state and/or federal, including but not limited to interconnection applications, CBED, FERC/NPRB, Environmental agencies, FAA/Dept. of Aeronautics, SHPO, PSC Approvals, etc.
  • Becomes proficient in technology specific resource assessments and Windpro modeling
  • Coordinates, assists and becomes proficient in preparing customer communication documents
  • Assists in organization of public outreach events
  • Executes consultant service contracts, manages timeline and ensures adequate deliverables
  • Manages tasks according to budgets and schedules
  • Drafts reports to support Project Financial Analysis
  • Assists and liases Client Contract & Subcontract Management
  • Assists Project Manager with Change Order Management
  • Drafts Project Correspondence for RFI’s, Submittals and Transmittals
  • Identifies development prospects, including market assessments, fatal flaw identification and initial site reconnaissance
  • Identifies potential landowners and lead landowner communication efforts
  • Negotiates landowner contracts
  • Takes a lead role in obtaining certain local, state and/or federal permits
  • Performs other duties as required and assigned

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power point)
  • Strong organizational, time management, and accounting skills
  • Ability to write effective, concise reports
  • Ability to work professionally with clients, landowners, vendors, employees, managers and supervisors
  • Ability to travel as needed to interact with customers, visit local officials and attend zoning meetings

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of business related experience required
  • Experience in the development of utility scale wind projects is required

Education & Training:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a relevant field preferred
  • *Equivalent education and experience will be considered
