Jeffrey Geibel, APR, Has Been Credentialed as a LEED AP

Jeffrey Geibel, APR, LEED AP, Principal of Geibel Marketing and Public Relations, introduces LEED-specific marketing, marketing intelligence and public relations services as part of his practice's professional services.

As far as Geibel has been able to determine, he is one of only two practitioners nationally who hold both the PRSA (Public Relations Society of America) APR and USGBC LEED AP accreditations.

"The communications challenges for LEED are very similar to that of technology", comments Geibel, who has more than 20 years experience as an independent consultant in technology marketing and public relations.

"Sustainability is clearly the wave of the future and LEED has become the de facto standard. Companies in the design and construction industries are going to need to go further than simply stating they are "LEED" and showcase their LEED design ingenuity and problem-solving processes in order to stand out from their competitors.

Geibel is also a graduate mechanical engineer and has had varied construction industry experience in his career, including a tour with the US Army Corp of Engineers.

Geibel has developed regional, national and international public relations programs for numerous clients, including developing their submissions for various industry awards. He is also a television and video producer, having crewed more than 100 productions, most often as technical director.

Among his other clients, Geibel has been the on-call marketing consultant for a leading construction industry data services vendor for the last six years, conducted many market and executive surveys, and created white papers on advanced construction industry practices such as Building Information Modeling (BIM) and LEED.
