Arctic National Wildlife Refuge Resolutions

Green Century Funds and Franklin Research & Development have filed resolutions with ARCO and Exxon respectively to halt plans for oil drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. The resolutions are part of a campaign including USPIRG, Greenpeace and the International Longshoreman and Warehouse Union (ILWU).

One of the big sustainable business news stories this month was the speech ARCO CEO, Mike Bowlin, gave "on the last days of the Age of Oil" (News Briefs). Interesting. The campaign to designate the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge as wilderness (closing it to oil drilling) has been going on for about 15 years.
