Soladigm To Manufacture 'Smart' Windows in Mississippi

SustainableBusiness.com News

Soladigm, a manufacturer of dynamically tintable windows, announced plans to locate its first full-scale manufacturing operation in Olive Branch, Mississippi.

The project represents a capital investment of over $130 million by the company and is expected to create more than 300 cleantech jobs.

Soladigm will produce energy-efficient, dynamic insulated glass units. The electrochromic windows can change from clear to tinted on demand with the application of an electric current. The windows allow for unprecedented control over the amount of light and heat that enters a building, resulting in reduced energy consumption and improved user experience.

To help facilitate this project, the State of Mississippi provided a $40 million loan through the Mississippi Industry Incentive Financing Revolving Fund, in addition to $4 million in Momentum Mississippi incentives for project improvements at the company’s new facility.

Soladigm was founded in 2007 and is headquartered in Milpitas, California, where it currently operating a pilot production line.
