Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd (7011.T) is considering building a wind turbine plant in the United States, according to a Reuters report.
The $100 million plant would be built in Fort Smith Arkansas.
"We'll make a final investment decision after seeing how demand recovers, probably in the second half of the 2010 financial year," a company spokesperson said.
MHI is currently testing a 2.4-megawatt turbine in Oregon. The report did not say what size wind turbine would be produce in Arkansas.
