Combined Heat and Power Is Future of Building Efficiency

SustainableBusiness.com News

Texas is the latest state to embrace the energy efficiency potential of combined heat and power (CHP) systems, which recycle energy that is normally wasted in the form of heat during the generation of electrical power.

CHP systems capture the heat for use in buildings or industry.

The Texas Public Utility Commission recently expanded rules to incentivize systems smaller than 10 megawatts.

The Christian Science Monitor published an in-depth article last week on the future of CHP systems in the U.S. and abroad.
