R&D Entry Level, Product Formulation

~ With a mission of "a healthy life and greater happiness for customers" Nutribiotech opened for business in 2002 as an ODM/OEM. It was established as Korea's first specialized company focused on manufacturing health functional food. It was the first of its kind in Korea to house a complete manufacturing system under one roof, i.e., from product planning to R&D and from raw materials to finished product. ~

In view of its growing market in the USA and the perceived potential in the Latin American region, Nutribiotech USA, Inc. was established in Garland, TX in 2014. Construction of the facility started in 2015 with the powder and tablet lines. In 2016, liquid line was added and in January 2017, Nutribiotech USA, Inc. will be in full production.

Nutribiotech, Ko (our mother company in Korea) went public in December 2015 with its initial public offering of $22.00 per share. In May of this year, NBT stocks are traded at $70.00 per share, a whopping 200% increase after over 5 months in the market. This year also, to further its market reach in Central Asia and down under, Nutribiotech established its China and Australia plants, respectively.   

Position Overview

The incumbent will be tasked primarily to formulate products as defined by the product profile, take the product from concept to market and to assist in administrative duties for R&I. He/she will have to work with other divisions within Nutribiotech USA Inc., Nutribiotech Korea, clients and consultants in regards to product formulation requirements.

Responsibilities 

Specific Accountabilities / Essential Functions: 

  • Work with Product Development, Product Integrity, Marketing, Legal, Regulatory, Packaging, Quality and Technical Services, Planning, Purchasing, Manufacturing & Engineering, contract manufacturers and suppliers for product launch and manufacturing for Nutribiotech USA, Inc. and its mother company, Nutribiotech Korea
  • Understand the entire product launch process, possess forward thinking, and be able to troubleshoot when needed
  • Responsible for formulation development for nutritional and dietary supplement and fully cross trained in these areas
  • Responsible for the project from development to first production. Need to meet a 90% success rate of all KPI's and 100% success rate of all products that go to final production
  • Comply with the safety and US/International regulatory requirements
  • Monitor technology advances in the industry; identify, obtain, and use the best ingredients and technologies in product formulation
  • Actively work on process improvements for pilot, line trial, production, and filling to make targeted improvements on launching specific product categories
  • Review ingredient statements and review art work to ensure accuracy with client specifications
  • Provide technical guidance and help Operations (internal and external Nutribiotech companies) and outside vendors in the production of Nutribiotech products to ensure that quality and timing are met
  • Monitor all aspects of formula progress, stability, clinical results, pilot, test filling, and manufacturing
  • Manage working area, provide guidance to junior level team members, and train new R&I personnel
  • Maintain the R&I status report and send out weekly to all appropriate personnel
  • Participate in the Product Launch Team meetings, Manager's meetings, Management Review meetings, Safety / GMP meetings, Raw Material Replacement Review meetings, R&I status meetings
  • Coordinate with Technical Services in order to train R&I on GMP/safety topics
  • Update any SOP's, work instructions, forms, etc. and then properly train all appropriate personnel
  • Screen raw material replacements due to cost increases, supply issues, or discontinuations
  • Evaluate stability 1 and 2 reports when data is outside of the tentative specifications and make suggestions / comments on the product's ability to launch 

Qualifications  

Education and Experience: 

  • BS in Chemistry or related sciences
  • Proven experiences and capabilities in formula design and product development
  • Minimum 1 - 5 years nutritional and dietary supplement, depending on position applied for
  • Knowledge of nutritional and dietary supplement safety and regulatory rules & regulations
  • Experience in international dietary supplement products and markets
  • Knowledge of nutritional and dietary R & I lab facilities and operations
  • Knowledge of ingredients, technologies and nutritional and dietary formulation for the global industry

Job Specific Competencies: 

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 

Required experience: 

  • Chemical Engineer: 1 year
  • Nutritional and dietary supplement experience: 1 year
  • Nutritional and laboratory facilities experience: 1 year
