Position Overview 

 

The Location Director is responsible for making sure that the quality of product and service are consistently excellent. A leader with a proactive and hands-on approach, the Location Director is expected to innovate and constantly strive to improve the quality of our product and operations with the goal of consistently delivering outstanding customer experience.

Responsibilities


Leadership

 

 

  • Provide guidance and leadership through good example, effective communication, and sound judgment
  • Develop leadership and supervisory skills in location team members
  • Maintain regular and direct communications with management at Central and other locations to establish and implement policy, procedures, and company best practice
  • Foster a team environment built around quality, accuracy, safety, good judgment and strong work ethic 
  • Foster the organizational culture: everyone is focused on our customer's experience and is willing to step up and support other members of the team as needed 

 

Operations

 

  • Facilitate the safe, productive, effective and efficient operation at the location so that operations are completed within established budget and cost structures and targets for productivity, safety and success are achieved
  • Ensure the Operations leadership group has the guidance and resources needed to meet location goals 
  • Adapt quickly and create solutions to complex operational problems while building and managing a team to execute in a dynamic environment
  • Communicate, maintain and achieve established targets for quality and productivity
  • Hire, train, develop, encourage, review, discipline and terminate employees as necessary
  • Protect and maintain the good condition of company assets
  • Assist in the development of location budgets and forecasts
  • Have a clear understanding of company policies and vision and how Operations contributes to short, medium and long term goals 
  • Maintain high standards of individual and team performance
  • Communicate regularly and directly with local leadership team
  • Lead the safety culture in the workplace 
  • Coordinate the use of automated and computerized systems
  • Measure and report the effectiveness of department activities
  • Interpret and enforce company policies
  • Constantly seek ways to improve quality of service and increase efficiency of department, work crews and equipment
  • Demonstrate a willingness to do whatever it takes to help make the Company a success
  • Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications

 

  • Formalized education or training in management or engineering preferred
  • 4 years of experience managing people and processes; Order Processing or Warehouse experience preferred; Experience working with produce is a plus
  • Ability to supervise people with all types of personalities and walks of life
  • Advanced beginner ability utilizing Microsoft Office applications required
  • Demonstrated organizational management ability with demonstrated success in performance management and fostering a high performance organization aligned with company mission
  • Strong orientation toward excellent execution
  • Professional-level capabilities including effective verbal and written communication skills, presentation skills and comfort interacting with senior management
  • Experience operating in an environment that stresses quality, productivity, and safety
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers and the general public
  • Will be expected to be "on call" for addressing operational issues including early morning shifts, weekends and holidays 
  • Communicate consistently, clearly and effectively to Company employees, vendors and customers
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to manage complex and dynamic operations under stress 
  • Work well independently and with others
