Senior Magnetic Design Engineer

We are in the business of developing and manufacturing innovative, cost-effective, energy-efficient electric motors. Our target markets include OEM producers of:

• Air handling, pumping, and compressing equipment
• General industrial and process control equipment
• Off-grid, battery-powered, mobile equipment

The Company is headquartered in Fremont, California (Silicon Valley area) with manufacturing located in Searcy, Arkansas.

Position Overview:

NovaTorque is currently seeking a "Senior Magnetic Design Engineer."

Responsibilities:

• Design motors using NovaTorque's unique conical axial gap permanent magnet motor technology.
• Quickly derive near optimal solutions to problems with many interacting magnetic and mechanical variables.
• Work closely with mechanical design engineers and motor drive engineers. 

Qualifications:

• Engineering degree in electrical engineering or related mechatronics program.
• 10 years experience in motor design or related magnetic design.
• Experience with 3D magnetic modeling and knowledge of magnetic materials is required.
• Innovative thinking to apply and enhance motor designs to best meet customer requirements.
• Ability to work on multiple simultaneous projects and be a self-starter.
• Highly detail oriented.
• Desire for entrepreneurial environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills are highly desired.
• Works well with minimal direction.
