Position Overview:
The Managing Consultant will lead all aspects of resource-efficiency assessments of client companies, including operational reviews, site evaluations, best practice analytics, and cost modeling as part of our team. Our clients include companies across all industry categories: professional services, retail, manufacturing, and industrial.
The successful candidate will work with the team's associates and management to pursue and execute projects involving the analysis, design, and implementation of facilities' energy efficiency, IT optimization, paper/packaging/waste reduction, and logistics optimization projects among others.
Travel Percentage: 30%+
Responsibilities:
Lead review of clients' operations to identify opportunities to increase efficient use of natural resource based production inputs by:
- Overseeing engineers conducting ASHRAE level I, II, and III energy audits
- Assessing major business operating functions, including facilities (physical and IT), procurement, packaging, and logistics
- Work with associates, engineers, and sub-contractors to conduct audits, quantitatively business case savings opportunities, and manage project implementation
- Draft written client deliverables
- Contribute to improving design, process, and deliverables for the MSP's service lines; specifically recommending enhancements to audits reports, financial return modeling, and project implementation
- Assist in the educational training of the client through training sessions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Operations and at least 5 years' experience in energy efficiency and /or operations efficiency; or Master's degree in Engineering and 3 years of related experience; or MBA with 5+ years of genuine operations experience
- Certified Energy Manager, PE, or similar certification a plus
- Must possess strong business analytical mindset with proven business-casing skills, as well as excellent verbal and written communication
- Ability to build successful relationships with client operations teams allowing for exceptional customer service and productivity
- Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks and to give attention to detail, while maintaining timelines
- An entrepreneurial spirit that thrives in a fast-paced and stimulating team environment with many unknowns
- Self-motivated with a driven personality, being responsible for positive outcomes
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Energy analysis of production processes and building systems, including HVAC systems, chillers, boilers, variable speed drive applications
- Cogeneration, heat recovery, and compressed air systems
- Deep familiarity with Building Automation Systems, Building Envelope, Lighting Systems
- Operational efficiency experience sought, especially in the areas of IT systems, packaging, logistics, and supply chain
- Ability to recommend, estimate, and implement resource efficiency projects
- Preference for knowledge of energy modeling programs such as eQuest, Energy Pro, and Energy Plus
- Ability to identify federal and state utility rebates and incentives
