Indian Creek Watershed Educator

Historic Hoosier Hills is a Resource, Conservation and Development (RC&D). We are a non-profit, tax exempt corporation registered in Indiana and are a 501(c)3 organization by Internal Revenue Service determination. We are governed by a Board of Directors, local residents who determine the services that Historic Hoosier Hills provides.

Position Overview:

This position shall be known as the Indian Creek Watershed Conservation Educator, employed by Historic Hoosier Hills RC&D. This position is part-time temporary. 

The term of this agreement shall be for a period of 32 months. It shall commence on or shortly after June 1, 2013, and shall terminate on January 31, 2016, unless otherwise extended or terminated. 

Responsibilities:

• The Educator shall conduct an education and outreach program designed to bring about behavioral changes and encourage BMP implementation that will lead to reduced nonpoint source pollution in the Indian Creek Watershed.  

Additional Information:

A background security investigation may be required for all new appointments. Continued employment will be subject to successful completion of a background security investigation and favorable adjudication. Failure to successfully meet these requirements will be grounds for termination. 

The working environment is based on tasks completed i.e. office, school settings, field work, etc. 

Compensation: The educator will be paid bi-weekly. Total amount under this agreement shall be based on experience with a minimum salary of $20,000 per year. Activity reports will be provided to HHH and the Indian Creek Watershed Steering Committee monthly.

Work time shall be 20 hours per week; days of the work week may be flexed based upon demands for the week. There is no health insurance or unemployment compensation provided with this position.
